Thirteenth Sunday after Trinity

Please join us for Mass for the Thirteenth Sunday after Trinity. Read Dr. Podles' notes on today's music. Today we continue our summer schedule of a single sung Mass at 9:00 am. Confessions will be heard starting at 8:30 am. As always, we will have a light brunch downstairs after Mass.

Bus Stop Breakfast

We will host our next Bus Stop Breakfast on September 1. Mount Calvary parishioners will prepare and serve a hot breakfast to the community outside our front doors. There is a methadone clinic across the street from the church, and many men and women who are struggling with addiction visit the clinic on Saturday mornings for treatment. We are able to serve them in a small way as we hand out egg sandwiches and hot coffee. The ministry, although new, has brought many opportunities for deep conversation, prayer, and witness. And we hope we can continue to touch the hearts of these men and women with the love of Christ and give them hope in their struggles. Contact Abby Scharbach for details.

Men's Retreat

As the summer winds down, and the new academic year begins, many men experience a sense of a new beginning. This is an opportune time to pray about our relationship with God and how we're living our lives as Christian men.

So join us for a few hours to pray and reflect on how you are living up to the greatness of your vocation as a worker, husband, father, son, friend, and apostle. There will be practical talks by a priest and one of the laymen of the parish. There will be Benediction, plenty of opportunity for confession, and time for quiet personal reflection.

The day will start at 8:30 am sharp, with a short prayer in the Church, followed by breakfast in the undercroft, and then the real work of the day will begin.

As always, we will look to St. Joseph as a "Fulcrum of Faith," and how he is our model of the interior life, the life that occurs in the depths of our soul and its relationship with God.

We guarantee you'll come away with specific, concrete ideas for how to improve your relationship with God, and how to turn the work you do every day, no matter what it is, into a path to true holiness. All men who want to grow in their spiritual life are welcome.

We'll finish with Mass at about noon, followed by lunch.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. There is no charge, but the suggested donation is $15.

Please sign up by clicking here to help us make sure we have enough food and materials.
